The story of salvation begins with Abraham. Chosen to lead humankind back to God, Abraham lived in his father's tribe in Mesopotamia. Having neither a son nor land, when God called him to abandon his wealth, his father's house and the protection of his tribe to leave for a unknown land, Abraham immediately proved his faith and belief in the Being which spoke to him by leaving the safety of his home to venture into the unknown.
