In 1996, several musicians and professional singers in Indonesia united in Jakarta Praise Centre Youth Ministry and released praise and worship album entitled True Worshippers. Soon they became a major impact in Indonesian Gospel Industry and attracted many record labels. The group then identified themselves as True Worshippers and pulled together fellow supporters in churches across the nation.

In 2000 True Worshippers officially became the praise and worship team of Jakarta Praise Community Church (www.jpcc.org), the cutting edge church grows into a spirited congregation and becomes a great influence for the True Worshippers development. By 2007, the church established networks with numerous major congregations across the world such as City Harvest Church, Hillsong Australia, Hillsong London, Victory Christian Centre, Oasis Christian Centre, and many influential Christian ministers and speakers.

Profile & Achievements:

• Several members of True Worshippers are professional singers and musicians who are popular among the secular music industry. Ruth Sahanaya and Lita Zen are esteemed singers in the Indonesia, who have been invited to perform in prestigious Java Jazz Music Festival (performers include James Brown, Jamie Cullum, Sergio Mendez, etc); while others are working in the secular industry, getting involved in various top-notch secular albums and music events such as MTV Indonesia Awards.

• Sidney Mohede as the Worship Leader has been invited numerous times by City Harvest Church to lead the worship there, including coming on stage with Delirious? in festival of Praise in Singapore. He also led worship in Manifest conference with Joel Houston (Hillsong United) in Melbourne. Recently invited to lead worship in Emerge Conference, City Harvest Church Malaysia.

• True Worshippers is a pioneer of contemporary praise and worship team in Indonesia, has established a great reputation, and toured overseas including to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, United States, Canada, Australia, and The Netherlands. True Worshippers was the opening act for Reuben Morgan (Hillsong) and Delirious? when they visited Jakarta in 2006.

• True Worshippers won best group Indonesia Gospel Music Awards (2007).

• True Worshippers‟ songs from the previous albums have become praise and worship anthems in many churches across Indonesia.

• True Worshippers has great connections with vast numbers of Indonesian churches and international mega churches across the world.
