City Of Heroes

If music is the universal language then CITY OF HEROES has something loud and clear to say with their debut album THE GREAT UNKNOWN. Karl Müller, Jéan Lombard, Stephen Wallace and Bernard Fisher are four guys with a clear musical mission, to make music that speaks of hope and instills a culture of self belief and positivity.

7 March 2011 sees the release of the post punk / rock CD and DVD. Jéan had this to say about the album: "When it came to finding a name for the new band we wanted a name that not just anyone could have, it had to portray an epic and larger than life feel, thus CITY OF HEROES. If you want to achieve something you have to venture into the great unknown and be brave enough to go for what you want."

Music has become more than just an audio experience and CITY OF HEROES have taken that into account. Their latest single THIEF IN THE NIGHT (filmed by Brendan Barnes of CRASH CAR BURN) will be broadcast across MK, SABC 2 and the DSTV HD Channels. The CD / DVD combo includes two music videos, a full documentary and acoustic sessions.

"We want our music to create a huge experience for the public. It shouldn't ever be classed as background music." says Stephen "It should create an image in your mind and transport you to an awesome place! Our approach to writing the music was not to limit ourselves to a specific genre. We wanted to open ourselves up to all sorts of influences so that we could make something completely new, something that people haven't heard before."

Besides the band, each member has their own artistic interests. Lead vocalist Karl (guitar and vocals), runs Alive Studios, while Jéan (guitar and screams) is a graphic designer with his own clothing line, New Hope Clothing. Stephen (drums & backing vocals) runs his own illustration and design company Wallace Illustration and Design.

The group is currently signed under LAMININ ENTERTAINMENT, a division of BRETTIAN PRODUCTIONS.
